‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers (and sisters) to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious anointing oil … That is where the Lord has promised his blessing – life that never ends.’ Psalm 133.1-3 |
And here you are. Welcome! Welcome to the
T.P.S.C.C.C. (Toronto Post Secondary Chinese Catholic Community) with all
our heart. Most of us are studying in colleges and universities here in
Toronto while some are already graduated. Anyway, friendship is what we
have. Is it not true that it is the most important thing in our life,
beginning from our personal relationship with God? Alleluia! Based out of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Toronto, Canada, our first aim is to promote spiritual growth and fellowship. Indeed, as the Lord says, ‘I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.’ (Jn.10.10) In the same manner, we would like to say, ‘We are here so that they might have life, in their ever-growing personal knowledge and love for God and for each other, and that they might have it more abundantly.’ Indeed, we would like to see our brothers and sisters becoming a man of God and a man for others, living happily for both God and others in the abundance of growth and fellowship – and this is what we mean by promoting spiritual growth and fellowship in our Lord Jesus Christ. |
| Our second aim is to reach out to other
students. ‘There are other sheep that belong to me that are not in this
sheepfold. I must bring them , too.’ (Jn.10.16) We believe firmly the Lord
is saying to us that there are other brothers and sisters in the different
colleges and universities who belong to Him and He must bring them also to
become part of God’s family. ‘And you shall be my witnesses.’ (Acts.1.8)
Indeed, we do have a great emphasis in reaching out to other students, in an
attempt to share with them our Lord and the abundant blessings we have
received from Him. Our third aim is to serve people. ‘I tell you, indeed, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me!’ (Mt.25.40) Since we are established here in the parish, we seek to serve the people here. From time to time, we participate and contribute to different parish-wide activities and liturgies in the best possible way. So true is the saying that ‘faith without actions is dead.’ (James2.26) Indeed, we would like to serve people not only with our good examples, but also with our good works. |
